RUSSIA

In January-October 2017, sugar production grew by 25%, Russian sugar exports increased 17-fold this year to reach 316,000 tons, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachev, said.

UKRAINE

By November 27  farmers in Chernigov region have harvested sugar beet from 100% of the crop area (6,3 thousand hectares), with 267 thousand tons of beets collected were at an average yield of 42.3 MT/ha, the regional administration reports.

As of November 28, total 1.62 million tons of sugar were produced out of 11.41 million tons of sugar beet processed at 46 sugar plants operating, Ukrtsukor reports.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the Bureau of national statistics of Kazakhstan, for 10 months (January-October) of 2017 imports of raw sugar (HS code 170114) from countries outside CU zone, amounted to 218.4 thousand tons (in 2016 - 310.6 thousand tons). Export of white sugar (HS code 170199) amounted to 7354.9 tons (in 2016 - 2142.6 tons), imports - 18.7 thousand tons (in 2016 - 75.6 thousand tons). Most of the exports of white sugar were delivered to Tajikistan, imports mostly from Poland.
