UKRAINE
The profitability of sugar beet production will decrease 4 times compared to last year's result - up to 6.1%, according to the National Research Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics".

China approved the Yareskovsky and Kryzhopolsky sugar plants, as exporters of beet pulp.

In the 2017/2018 marketing year, the expected sugar production will be within 2.0 million tons (at the level of the previous period). Taking into account the domestic demand for 1.49 million tons and the carry-over balances of 170,000 tons, the export potential of sugar is estimated at 460,000 tons, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy said.

According to the analysis of data by the Federal Customs Service of Ukraine, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 9 months (January - September) 2017: exports of white sugar (HS Code 170199) amounted to 442 574 tons, in September - 16 737 tons. The main importers of white sugar from Ukraine are Sri Lanka (43,000 tons), Libya (37,000 tons), Turkey (35,000 tons), Cote d'Ivoire (35,000 tons), Sudan (30,000 tons), Myanmar (26 thousand tons), Togo (25 thousand tons), Azerbaijan (24 thousand tons), Georgia (19 thousand tons). Exports of other sugars (HS Code 1702) amounted to 35 677 tons, the main importer of other sugars from Ukraine - the Russian Federation (12 325 tons).
Export of molasses (HS Code 1703) amounted to 55,720 tons, for September - 1,058 tons, exports of sugar beet pulp (HS Code 230320) - 39,581 tons, for September - 2,603 tons.
