RUSSIA

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, sugar reserves with large and medium-sized wholesale organizations amounted to 111.7 thousand tons at the end of June 2017, which is 23% higher than at the end of June last year - 90.8 thousand tons. In May 2017, the reserves were 92.1 thousand tons.

According to Rosstat, sales of sugar by large and medium wholesale organizations amounted to 324.3 thousand tons in June 2017, 78% more than in May. Total since the beginning of the year, sales of sugar amounted to 1364 thousand tons.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, as of August 7, 2017, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 6.9 thousand hectares (in 2016 - 0.6 thousand hectares), the volume of beet collected has made 319.9 thousand tons (in 2016 - 19.3 thousand tons) with an average yield of 46 .50 MT/ha (in 2016 – 35.07 MT/ha).

According to the Lipetsk mass media, despite the fact that due to frosts (earlier this spring) a significant part of the beet crops had to be transplanted, the yield expected are about 60.0 MT/ha from such areas, and up to 90 .0MT/ha from fields not affected by cold weather

UKRAINE

According to the rail cargo monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, in July 2017 Ukraine supplied 9 thousand tons of white sugar transit Russia; this is the maximum monthly volume for the sugar season. The main recipient of sugar was Tajikistan. Ukraine supplied 22.5 thousand tons of white sugar transit by Russian railway over 7 months of 2017; making total 48.4 thousand tons for the 2016/17 season.
