RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the wholesale price of sugar has decreased by 2.3%, retail price has increased by 0.3% in the period February 16 – 20, 2016. Sugar beet acreage to be sown in 2016 is projected to reach 1.1 million hectares, which is more by 38.4 thousand hectares than last year.

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.Ru for January 2016, Russia has exported 31,800 tons of molasses to countries outside the Customs Union (in 2015 – 26.5 thousand tons, in 2014 – 29 500 MT).

During January 2016, the main countries for imports of molasses from Russia were Turkey (68.44%) and Italy (25.29%). The largest exporters of molasses in the first month of the year are companies "Agrosystems" (70.94%) and "TD METELICA" (15.90%).
EAEC
According to the forecasts of EAEC experts for 2016/17 MY it is expected that gross harvest of sugar beet will increase by 11% in the Union.
ARMENIA
In January 2016 Armenia has imported 20.3 tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701) for the total value of US$ 19.4 thousand and 20 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) valued at US$ 6 thousand, according to the National Statistical Service.
AZERBAIJAN
Import of raw sugar and sugar amounted to 291.5 thousand MT to Azerbaijan in 2015, which is 32.7 less than in 2014, the agency "Interfax-Azerbaijan" interview with the State Statistics Committee.
