RUSSIA
Russia may increase the production of beet sugar to 5.4 million tons in 2016 against 5.19 million tons harvested last year, according to forecast by Eugene Ivanov (ICAR). This is the first provisional assessment based on the forecast that the area under sugar beet may grow by 6.2% this season and will reach 1 million 085 thousand ha.

According to Russian Agriculture Ministry, the wholesale price of sugar, decreased by 1.1%, retail price has increased by 0.4% in the period from February 9 to February 15, 2016.

The profitability of sugar beet manufacture has made 57% in Kursk region in 2015, said deputy governor Mr Alexei Zolotarev.
UKRAINE
Sugar has added UAH 150/MT for the week. Procurement prices for sugar were fixed in the range of 13750-14000 UAH/MT, as of February 17.
BELARUS
According to the data published by the Federal Customs Service of Belarus for 12 months of 2015, Belarus has exported 363 thousand tons of sugar, of which 296 thousand tons went to Russia, 40 thousand tons - to Kazakhstan. Export of molasses has made 132.7 thousand tons, the export of sugar beet pulp was 36 108 tons. The volume of raw sugar imported made 176 thousand tons total.
