RUSSIA
Volume of sugar production in Russia has made 109 thousand tons in January 2016. Compared to January 2015, the production volume has increased by 22.9%, according to Rosstat.

According to operative data by Soyuzrossakhar dated February 15, 2016, Russia has produced 5.16 million tons of beet sugar, beating the United States production (5.01 million tons) by 3% speaking of volume.

Sergachsky regional investigation department in Nizhny Novgorod region has opened a criminal case on the fact of non-payment of salaries for more than three months at Sergachsky sugar factory. Because of the outstanding debts the plant was switched off natural gas supply and there is a threat of complete blackout. "Ak Bars", owner of Sergachsky sugar factory, has announced plans to sell the company.

The Arbitration Court of the Republic of Adygea has adjourned hearing on the suit of "Prodimex" bankruptcy of "Giaginsky sugar factory" (Adygea) scheduling next hearing for March 9, 2016.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved a list of sensitive agricultural commodities at it session in Moscow on February 12. The list includes sugar, and stipulates the Parties to exchange plans for the development of production, as well as conduct annual consultations.
UKRAINE
According to the Statistical Service of Ukraine, in January 2016 the average price for white sugar from manufacturers has added UAH 862.46 and has reached UAH 11105.18 per ton (RUR 31 449.42/MT at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia).

Ukrainian exports of water and sugar fell to 3540 tons in January 2016, against 10,159 tons exported in December 2015, according to the fiscal office. The total volume of export of water with sugar has made 89.1 thousand tons in 2015 season.
MOLDOVA
According to the Statistical Committee of Moldova, consumer prices for granulated sugar decreased by 0.4% in Moldova in January 2016.
