According to the report by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the country has collected 37.6 million tons of sugar beet in 2015 (in 2014 – 33.5 million tons); thus facilitating manufacture of over 5 million tons of beet sugar this season. The volume of import of raw sugar has decreased by 9.2% compared to 2014. However, the volume of white sugar imports has increased by 37.1%.
Due to the absence of buyers, the competitive bidding committee at the State Reserve has abolished sugar auction to sell the third grade sugar.
KYRGYZSTAN
The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and sugar enterprise "Kaindy-Kant" have agreed the acreage of sugar beet in the 2016/17 Marketing Year: Talas region – 1 300 ha; Chui region – 8 500 ha (in 2015/16 – 6 000 ha).
Azerbaijan has increased the volume of sugar in the minimum consumer basket for 2016 to make 16.9 kg/year per capita (or +0.6 kg).
UZBEKISTAN
In 2015 large enterprises of the industry have increased production of molasses (by 40.9%) and sugar (by 16.3%), reports the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
BELARUS
According to the Federal Customs Service of the Republic of Belarus, in the 11 months of 2015 the export of other sugar (HS 170199) has amounted to 330 thousand tons (88.3% over the same period of 2014). The main recipient is Russia with 264 000 tons. Export of molasses was 121 thousand tons (225.8% vs. the same period in previous year), beet pulp – 31.5 thousand tons. Import of raw sugar has reached 166,000 tons, imports of other sugars (HS code 1702) – 11 800 tons.
