RUSSIA

The Arbitration Court of the Kursk region has accepted the claim of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which insists on its inclusion in the list of creditors of agricultural holding "Ivolga Center" with claims of RUR 23.5 billion. RBS provided loan to Kazakhstan based "Ivolga-Holding" (the owner of the Kursk "Ivolga Center") in 2007 - 2008, the company concluded a contract with a pledge of property. Earlier Arbitration Court of Kursk Region refused to include the bank in the register of sugar factory creditors, as the guarantee agreement was concluded on the basis of English law, where the limitation period is 12 years, compared to three years allowed by the Russian legislation; subsequently the Court of Appeal has confirmed this verdict.

UKRAINE

According to the State Statistics Service, in December 2015 the average price for white sugar from manufacturers has increased by UAH 512.2 and made UAH 10,242.72 per metric ton (or RUR 32 507.11/MT at the current exchange rates of the Central Bank of Russia).
BELARUS

According StatCom of Republic of Belarus, the volume of sugar exports to Kazakhstan amounted to 39.4 thousand tons in the first 11 months of 2015 (30.1% less than in 2014), to Russia - 269.4 thousand tons in the same time period (5.5% less than in 2014).
KAZAKHSTAN

Production of food commodities listed in the category "raw sugar or refined sugar cane or beet; treacle (molasses)" has amounted to 25,190 tons in Kazakhstan in December of 2015, according to the Statistical Agency. Total production of these commodities in 2015 has made 305,910 tons, which is 18.4% less than in 2014

Refined sugar prices have increased by 29% in the North-Kazakhstan region, but it is expected that prices will stabilize again following the launch of a new plant for the production of sugar, according to the head of the region Erik Sultanov.
