RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia; sugar beet was harvested from an area of 930.0 thousand hectares (91.6%) by November 5, 2015. Wholesale price of sugar rose by 0.5%, retail price decreased by 0.9% during a week from October 27 to November 2.

According to the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia, the country has processed 21,802,600 tons of sugar beet and has produced 3,226,100 tons of refined sugar by November 2, 2015 (starting from August 2015).

In January-September 2015 Russia imported 495,100 tons of raw sugar for the total value of US$ 187 million, which is 10.9% less than in 2014, according to the Federal Customs Service. Imports of white sugar to Russia amounted to 294 600 tons for the total value of US$ 114.7 million in January- September 2015.

"Dobrinsky sugar factory" to increase sugar production to 350 thousand tons in 2015/16 season (compared to 324 thousand tons manufactured in 2014/15), according to Sucden Financial Officer Gleb Tikhomirov.

 
UKRAINE

Ukraine has harvested 8.3 million tons of sugar beets from an area of 200 thousand hectares (84% of total) by November 6. Average field yield makes 41.6 MT/ha. The volume of beet dispatched makes 7.5 million tons, according to Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

According to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices for sugar increased by 8.2% in October 2015, from the beginning of the year - by 49.4%. In October 2015 the price of sugar from producers has increased by 14.4%; from the beginning of the year - by 62%.
