Consumer prices for sugar fell by 0.4% over the past week (from October 13 to October 19, 2015) in Russia; from the beginning of the year prices increased by 17.6%, according to Rosstat.
According to price monitoring by sugar.ru in the period October 15 – 22, 2015 the dollar exchange rate has slightly dropped by 0.8% (on October 15 US$ 1=RUR 63.12 on October 22 US$ 1=RUR 62.63). Moscow ruble price of sugar has not changed, remaining at the level of 40.30 rubles/kg, Krasnodar price has not changed either, remaining at the level of 39.20 rubles/kg. Other regions generally display downtrend. Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar rose by $ 0.005 / kg (0.78%), Krasnodar price has added $ 0.005 / kg (+ 0.81%).
UKRAINE
Sugar mills in Ukraine have produced 566,400 tons of sugar by October 21, 2015 (in 2014 - 922.6 thousand tons), according to "Ukrtsukor." From beginning of production season the plants were supplied with 4 780 000 tons of sugar beet (in 2014 - 8060 thousand tons). "Ukrtsukor" forecasts the reduction of national sugar production volume by 43-47% or 0.9-1 million tons compared to previous season to make total 1.1-1.2 million tons in 2015/2016 marketing year. By the end of the juice extracting season 2014/2015 sugar mills produced 2.09 million tons of sugar.
In the 2014-2015 fiscal year (FY ended on June 30) sugar segment has ensured "Kernel" company with revenues of US$ 27.44 million, the total cost of the sugar company's assets by end-June was US$ 881 thousand. The company carries out a plan to get out of the sugar business.
