RUSSIA

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 574,300 hectares (56.5%) by October 1, 2015, bulk harvest makes 21.6 million MT with average yield of 37.53 MT/ha. Wholesale price of sugar increased by 1.8%, retail prices decreased by 0.7% in a week of  Sept 29 – Oct 5. In January-July 2015 the production of sugar has made 638 900 MT, which is 21.5% less than the same period in 2014. The volume of imports of white sugar (according to the Federal Customs Service and the National Statistics Committee) is lower by 25.5% in January-July 2015 vs. imports in the same period of 2014. According to the Russian Union of sugar producers, Russia has processed 13 269 100 tons of sugar beet and produced 1 899 700 MT of white sugar by 5 October (starting from August 2015).

According to the Federal Customs Service, Russia imported 476,800 MT of raw sugar for total US$ 181.6 million in January-August 2015, which is 10.4% less than in 2014. Import of white sugar to Russia has made 225 400MT (up by 11.6% vs. 2014), for total value of US$ 104 mln.
KYRGYZSTAN

The Kyrgyz government has recommended to temporarily introduce lower tariff rates for domestic rail transportation of sugar beet and sugar in the period from October 1 to December 31, 2015 with a reduction of current tariffs up to 20%.
UKRAINE

The National Commission for Regulation of Financial Markets of Ukraine has developed a draft insurance regulations future harvest of sugar beets with state support. The project sets out the conditions of insurance of the future crop of sugar beet, insurance rates, insurance forms, etc.

According to Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, by October 9 sugar beet was collected from an area of over 90 000 ha (38% of total forecast of 238 000 ha), bulk volume collected makes 3.6 million tons with an average yield of 39.9 MT/ha; 3.1 million tons of beet were already delivered to local processing facilities.
BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee, consumer prices for sugar have increased by 0.7% in September 2015; from the beginning of the year - by 18.8%.
