In Krasnodar region 14 factories are involved in sugar beet processing. Total volume received makes 5.322 million MT of sugar beet including 5.028 million MT already processed with 684 thousand tons of sugar and 160,000 tons of dried pulp produced, according to the Ministry of Agriculture boundary.
According Soyuzrossakhar data of October 6, 2015; the area harvested has reached 556,200 ha (54.4% of total sugar beet acreage) with an average yield of 37.8 MT/ha.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beets were harvested from 550,100 ha (54.2%) by October 6, 2015.
Tatarstan Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service has called "Sergach sugar factory" as a collective defendant in the case to investigate growing of sugar prices. The case was initiated on the grounds of violation of the law "On Protection of Competition" in March 2015. Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia suspects that the companies have entered in a cartel agreement that has led to the maintenance of wholesale prices for sugar on the territory of Russia.
By October 7, 2015, sugar beet in Belarus was harvested from an area of 47,600 hectares (47.7%), reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. Bulk harvest makes 1 364.6 thousand tons, with average yields of 28.66 MT/ha; sucrose content makes 17.09%.
According to the State Statistics Service, the consumer prices for sugar in the country rose by 1.5%, in September 2015; from the beginning of the year – by 38.1%.
