Belgorod GC “Rusagro” has sold 10% + 1 share of its sugar mill JSC “Valuykisahar” to the Moscow based “Grocery investment". Just over a year ago, the agricultural holding in the same manner (10% + 1 share) has sold to “Food Investments” shares of its sugar asset – Znamensky sugar factory.

Company Unvia Trading Limited (Liechtenstein) is ready to invest € 250 million in the construction of the first sugar factory in Rostov region, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "International Sugar Corporation" Dmitry Babanov said at a meeting.

The draft law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On state regulation of production and sale of sugar" is presented to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The law proposes to abolish the minimum prices for sugar and sugar beet. The new draft law is under discussion; that draft provides delegation of function to distribute quotas for the supply of sugar to the domestic market to an industry association.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the volume of imports of goods listed under categories - Sugar and sugar confectionery - amounted to 14,905,300 US dollars in January-June 2015, which is 52.5% less than in 2014. The value of exports for this category amounted to 92,266,100 US dollars in January June 2015, which is 36.2% more than in 2014.
