RUSSIA

NCSP Group (Novorossiysk Commercial Seaport) reports that the volume of transshipment of sugar has made total 676.6 thousand tons in January-July 2015, which is 38.9 thousand tons (or 5.4%) less than last year.

Beet growers in Kursk region have started harvesting campaign. Sugar beets occupies about 100 thousand hectares of land in the region in 2015. To date the average yield makes 38.6 MT per hectare.

In Orel region the first tests of the new harvest of beet have shown that the sucrose content is 14-15% average, against 17% received last year, according to Rosselkhoznadzor. The reasons for such deterioration were the July rains and the early harvesting of beets.

 

UKRAINE

Ukrainian agricultural holding "Astarte" published a financial report for the first half of 2015. Traditionally the share of sugar segment is the most significant in the structure of company’s total revenues – 47%, or € 60 million. Sales of sugar have increased by 2% compared to the same period last year to make 156 thousand tons. Sugar exports totalled a record volume of 20 000 tons.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, the total volume of exports of sugar from the Republic of Belarus to Kazakhstan and Russia has made 187.87 thousand tons by the end of 6 months (January-June 2015). Sugar exports to Kazakhstan made 26.57 thousand tons (up by 9.5% vs. 2014) for the total value of US$ 14,623 thousand; exports to Russia made 161.3 thousand tons (15.7% less than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 97,635.2
