RUSSIA

Consumer prices for sugar in Russia have decreased by 0.4% from May 26 to June 1, 2015, the Federal State Statistics Service said; from the beginning of the year the growth of consumer price has made 11.5%.

According to price monitoring by sugar.ru, in the period May 28 June 04, 2015; the dollar exchange rate rose by 4.0% (on 05/28 - 51.02 RUR/$; on 04/06 – 53.06 RUR/$). Moscow ruble price of sugar rose by RUR 0.70/kg (+ 1.78%), Krasnodar price rose by RUR 0.30/kg (+ 0.80%). In Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar fell by $ 0.016/kg (-2.08%), in Krasnodar price dropped by US$ 0.023/kg (-3.13%).

 

ARMENIA

Armenia has not produced any refined sugar in January-April 2015, according to the data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia. During the same period last year the country has produced 2,870 tons of sugar.

BELARUS

According to the quarterly report of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus covering the results of 2014 operational year, out of the four national sugar mills only three businesses have showed growth the profit and only one proved to operate unprofitably. Slutsk Sugar Refinery has gained profit totalling 139.529 billion Belarusian rubles, or US$ 9.3 million, which is US$ 0.2 million more than in 2013. Profit of Gorodeya Sugar Refinery was 5.339 billion Belarusian rubles, or US$ 356 thousand (in 2013 the profit amounted to 16.6 billion Belarusian rubles, or US$ 1.9 million). Profit made by Zhabinka Sugar Plant was 99 million Br. rubles, or US$ 6.6 thousand (in 2013 a loss of US$ 18.4 billion Bel. rubles was recorded). Skidelsky Sugar Refinery once again worked at a loss in 2014, but was able to reduce losses from US$ 13.6 million in 2013 to US$ 5.6 million last year (in 2014 net loss was 84,476,000,000. Br. rubles).
