RUSSIA

JSC "Valuykisahar" (part of "Rusagro" group) has increased net profit 3.8 times in 2014 compared to 2013 year - up to 109.8 million rubles, according to company report.

JSC "Nizhny Novgorod Retail Company" (NSC) has submitted claim for bankruptcy of JSC "Sergach sugar factory to the Arbitration Court of Nizhny Novgorod Region." The amount of claim makes RUR 2.079 million.

Over the past week (April 21 to 27, 2015) the Russian consumer price for sugar fell by 0.2%, according to Rosstat. From the beginning of the year prices rose by 14.4%.

According to sugar price monitoring by sugar.ru, in the period April 23 – 30, 2015 the dollar exchange rate has decreased by 3.7% (on April 23 US$1 = RUR 53.66;  on April 30 US$1 = RUR 51.70). Moscow ruble price of sugar rose by RUR 0.50/kg (+ 1.23%), Krasnodar price rose by RUR 0.70/kg (+ 1.79%). Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar rose by US$ 0.039/kg (+ 5.13%), in Krasnodar price grew by US$ 0.041/kg (+ 5.62%).

 

UKRAINE

The country has planted 226,000 hectares with sugar beet by April 29, or 82% of the forecast (in 2014 season on this date 321 thousand hectares planted), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has reported.

ARMENIA

Armenia has imported 24.5 tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701for the total value of US$ 14,200 in the month of March 2015, according to the National Statistical Service.
