RUSSIA

According Soyuzrossakhar, industrial sugar consumers have been facing serious problems in timely payment over the past 2 months for sugar previously supplied. The largest producers of sugar "Rusagro" and "Prodimex" temporarily suspended deliveries of its production to the factories owned by "United Confectioners" because of non-payment. Total debt of "United Confectioners" to "Rusagro" and "Prodimex" makes over RUR 220 million today.

According Soyuzrossahar, the Russian Federation has planted 633,200 hectares with sugar beet by April 28 (63.7% of projected crop area). In 2014 on same date 680,600 hectares ware planted.

According to figures by the Ministry of Agriculture dated April 28, 2015 sugar beet was planted on an area of 626,500 hectares, or 63.9% of the forecast (in 2014 - 679,500 hectares).

 

UKRAINE

Agricultural enterprises in Ukraine (excluding those in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol) were selling sugar at an average of UAH 7378.4/MT excluding VAT in March 2015 (or 19.8% higher than in March 2014).

Farmers in the country have planted 221 thousand hectares of sugar beet by April 28, which makes 80% of the forecast (in 2014 the progress was 320 thousand hectares/
