RUSSIA

In Ryazan region farmers have planted an area of 1.7 thousand hectares with sugar beet (4.1% of the plan) as of April 24.

Revenues in the first quarter of 2015 received by Group of companies "RusAgro" increased by 7% compared to the first quarter of 2014 from RUR 4,50 bln to RUR 4,82 bln. Operating results for sugar business department for the first quarter of 2015 (compared to 2014) are as follows: increase in the volume of production of beet sugar - 100%, made from raw sugar - 15%.

In 2015, according to information from the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia, the country has produced 238,300 tons of sugar from sugar cane by April 20 (13.9% less than in 2014).

The consumer prices for goods from the category “sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets” have increased by 1.3% in Russia in March 2015 compared to February, while the EU average consumer prices have added 0.3%.

According to operational data from regional agricultural management of the Russian Federation, Russian farmers have planted  sugar beets on an area of 449,000 hectares as of April 24, 2015, or 45.8% of the forecast (in 2014 - 518,800 ha).

The agricultural producers in Stavropol region completed sowing of sugar beet on the area of 30,100 hectares by April 24, 2015.

 

UKRAINE

Farmers have planted 209 000 ha with sugar beet in Ukraine as of April 24, or 76% of the forecast (in 2014 the progress was 318 000 ha). The acreage of the crop is anticipated to reach 300,000 hectares in

 

BELARUS

In January-February 2015 Belarus imported 11,100 tons of sugar in the solid state (HS code 1701), which is 74.5% less than in 2014. The total cost amounted to US$ 4 045 000. In the same time period, Belarus has exported 59.6 thousand MT of sugar in the solid state (HS code 1701), which is 12.3% less than the previous year volume. The total cost has made US$ 34 829 000. The main volume of exported sugar went to Russia - about 32 thousand tons. In addition, Belarus has exported 33,479 tons of molasses for the total value of US$ 2,076 thousand during the same period of time. Lithuania was the largest receiver of molasses – 15496 tons.

As of April 27, 2015 farmers in Belarus have planted 94,700 hectares with sugar beet (96.7% of the plan). In 2014 on same day the progress made was 102,100 hectares.
