RUSSIA
Interdepartmental Commission has selected "Znamensky sugar factory" for participation in the program of financing investment projects aimed to increase the DC on beet of the enterprise to 8 000 tons as well as to perform construction of department for pulp drying and to erect silo construction.

Following the results of weekly monitoring of the agro-food market and as of March 23, 2015 total volume of raw cane sugar processed has made 171 100 tons; total volume of refined sugar produced has made 186.4 thousand tons (21.4% more than in 2014). The volume of raw sugar import in January-March 2015 has made 39.9% less than in 2014. For the week of March 23 – 30 wholesale price of sugar has increased by 2%, retail - decreased by 1.1%.

According to the operative data of the Department of horticulture and plant protection at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, farmers in Krasnodar, Stavropol, Kursk and Lipetsk regions have sown 83.3 thousand hectares with sugar beet as of March 27, 2015.
UKRAINE
According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine exported 3,487.7 tons of sugar confectionery (HS code 1704) and 4936 tons of water with sugar (HS code 2202) in January 2015.

Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine (excluding the Crimea and Sevastopol) have sold 157.1 thousand tons of sugar beet in February (up by 27.1% from January 2015).

In Ukraine 8 regions started sowing sugar beet; as of March 27, total acreage planted makes 20 thousand hectares or 7% of the total forecast (in 2014 – 76 000 ha by same date).
KAZAKHSTAN
Service and procurement centres in sugar beet growing areas of Almaty region of Kazakhstan received for their disposal 121 units of agricultural machinery for the cultivation of sugar beet.
