RUSSIA

In order to prevent violations, the Moscow prosecutor's office informed the chairmen of the associations of producers of bakery products, sugar and sunflower oil about the inadmissibility of unreasonable price increases for socially important essential food products.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the price for white beet sugar from industrial producers was RUR 41.35/kg as of October 27, 2021 (+1.6% per week).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of October 29, 2021, sugar beets were harvested from 863.4 thousand hectares; bulk harvest makes 33.9 million tons.

According to Rosstat data processed by Sugar.Ru, sugar production in September 2021 increased over the month by 319.48% and amounted to 1,030,497 tons (in the previous month - 245,658 tons, in September 2020 - 1,175,274 tons). A total volume of 1,999,956 tons of sugar was produced in Russia in January-September 2021 (2,398,500 tons in January-September 2020).

KAZAKHSTAN

A new sugar plant will be built In the Zhambyl region, the regional press reports. In 2023, the sugar beet processing plant will be fully operational. It will process more than 1 million tons of raw materials annually.

KYRGYZSTAN

In Kyrgyzstan, the number of acreage sown with sugar beet has decreased by 41.6%, the Statistics Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission reports.

BELARUS

As the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Belarus informed Sugar.Ru, as of November 1, 2021, 65.4 thousand hectares or 77.2% of the plan for sugar beet were harvested (in 2020 - 64.2 thousand hectares or 77.9% of the plan). As of the indicated date, the yield is 46.50 MT/ha (in 2020 – 47.39 MT/ha). A total of 3042.3 thousand tons of sugar beet have been collected (in 2020 - 3040.1 thousand tons).
