On January 12, 2021, 8 sugar contracts were sold at NTB. The total volume of sales has made 440 MT at the average price of RUR 38780/MT (US$520.43/MT at the exchange rate of CBR on date indicated). Trading session closed at $523.31/MT (CFO).

The expected sugar production in the 2020-21 season, taking into account sugar produced from molasses, stored syrup and off-grade sugar, will amount to 5149 thousand tons, including 94 thousand tons derived from syrup and off-grade sugar, 72 thousand tons tons from molasses, reports Soyuzrossahar.
UKRAINE
According to Ukrtsukor, Ukraine produced 1,021.1 thousand tons of sugar and processed 7.70 million tons of sugar beet as of January 12, 2021.

According to the analysis of data by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine for January-December 2020, conducted by Sugar.Ru, import of sugar (HS code 1701) has made 1883 MT (110.0% compared to the same period in 2019), export - 150626 MT (64.0% compared to the same period in 2019). For December 2020 import of sugar has made 236 MT, export - 10522 MT.
