RUSSIA

The district court of Ingushetia imposed a sentence of imprisonment for a term of two years on probation to the head of the customs warehouse who sold sugar imported into Russia from Georgia and stored under customs control and did not pay more than 24 million rubles customs duties.

According to Sugar.Ru railway monitoring data, in January-February 2019, Russia imported 49159 MT of sugar. The largest exporting countries to Russia were Belarus (96.27%) and Ukraine (3.73%). Russian exports amounted to 15,792 MT, the main countries receiving sugar were Kazakhstan (90.33%) and Kyrgyzstan (8.83%).

Domestic shipments amounted to 199563 MT, the largest volume of shipments were made from Lebedyansky (7.34%) and Cheremnovsky (7.06%) sugar factories. The total transit by rail through the territory of Russia amounted to 23,691 MT.

UKRAINE

According to Sugar.Ru railway monitoring data, in February, Ukraine exported by the Russian rail 11.7 thousand tons of refined white sugar, of which 9.4 thousand tons went to Azerbaijan and 2.0 thousand tons to Tajikistan.
