RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of October 16, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 810.3 thousand hectares or 73.1% of the area sown (in 2017 – 792.9 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest of 28.1 million tons was collected (in 2017 – 33.4 million tons), with average yield of 35.88 MT/ha (in 2017 – 41.18 MT/ha).

KAZAKHSTAN
According to the analysis of the data of the Bureau of national statistics of Kazakhstan, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 8 months (January-August) of 2018 the trade balance with the countries of the EEU is as follows: the import of white sugar (HS 170199) amounted to 130.3 thousand tons (of which Russia supplied 80 000 tons) and 4 thousand tons of beet raw sugar (HS 170112). Exports of white sugar (HS 170199) amounted to 1762.2 tons, all – to Kyrgyzstan. Raw cane sugar was not imported in April-August 2018.
UKRAINE
As of October 16, 37 sugar factories are operating, 4.52 million tons of beets were processed and 569.4 thousand tons of sugar produced, reports Ukrtsukor.
BELARUS
By October 17, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 62.3 thousand hectares or 62.6% of the area sown (in 2017 - 58.7 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 2803.4 thousand MT (in 2017 - 2755.2 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 44.99 MT/ha (in 2017 – 46.92 MT/ha). The beet sugar content in the republic is 1621.9% versus 1874.3% for the same date last year.
