RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Krasnodar has planted sugar beet at an area of 15.7 thousand ha as of April 4, or 7.7% to the forecast (in 2017 - 97.0 thousand ha); Rostov region – 0.1 thousand ha.

Ulyanovsk region plans to reduce sugar beet acreage from previously announced 13,200 to 12,100 ha.

Russian consumer sugar prices increased by 0.6% from March 27 to April 2 and since the beginning of the year (by the end of December 2017) - decreased by 0.1%, according to Rosstat.

According to Sugar.ru price monitoring data for the period from 29.03.2018 to 05.04.2018 the US dollar rate increased by 0,4% (on 29.03 - RUR 57,56/$, on 05.04 - RUR 57,76/$). Ruble Moscow wholesale price for sugar increased by 0,40 RUR/kg (+1,32%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by 1,20 RUR/kg (+4,32%). US dollar Moscow wholesale price for sugar increased by $0,005 /kg (+0,95%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by $0,019 /kg (+3,93%).
Little has changed in the sugar market over the past week. The emerging growth of wholesale sugar prices has stopped. The third day running large sellers keep practically the same prices.
According to railway monitoring Sugar.Ru, exports continue to remain low, in 5 days of April, only 3.5 thousand tons were exported by railway (exports to Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan - 0 tons). The place of the Russian sugar in Uzbekistan was occupied by the Ukrainian, since the beginning of March Ukraine has delivered 5.7 thousand tons of white sugar there. Krasnodar region reports a delay in the beginning of the sowing company of sugar beet, but it is too early to talk about any effects on the harvest.
GEORGIA
According to Statkom, consumer sugar prices fell by 5.98% in March 2018, and at an annualized rate (March 2018 by March 2017) - by 18.95%.
