RUSSIA
Voronezh region has 133 thousand hectares of sugar beet to be harvested, the average yield now is about 30.0 MT/ha, sugar content - 16.5% - the highest in the Central Federal District. Four regional sugar factories: Elan-Kolenovsky, Kalacheevsky, Liskinsky and Olkhovatsky have started processing on August 20, reported the regional administration.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by August 21, 2017 sugar beet was collected from an area of 44.6 thousand hectares in the country or from 3.7% of the crop acreage (in 2016 - 46.0 thousand hectares).

According to Soyuzrossahar, as of August 19, 2017, total 29 sugar refineries out of 75 process sugar beet; a total daily processing capacity makes 167.2 thousand tons. Last year 25 factories worked on the same date. By August 22, about 2.3 million tons of beets were harvested and more than 260,000 tons of sugar produced.
UZBEKISTAN
The resolution of the President of Uzbekistan No. PP-3213, dated August 15, 2017 sets decreased rates of customs payments and excises, including those for cane sugar starting from September 1, 2017.

UKRAINE
"Ukrtsukor" has sent an appeal to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine with a request to verify the legality of the sale of sugar from the State Agrarian Fund ("Agrarian Fund"), since its expiry date was April 15, 2017. According to the "Astarta" report for the first half of the year, the sugar segment's revenue was € 108 million (+ 80%), sugar sales grew 58% to 223 thousand tons, 57% sugar was exported.
