RUSSIA

Krasnodar sugar mills, being accused by regional Federal Antimonopoly Service of Tatarstan in "sugar collusion", filed lawsuits in the Court of Arbitration of the Republic of Tatarstan in December 2016, to recognize the accusation unlawful. Claims were accepted for further processing, the next court sessions are scheduled for January and February 2017.

Farmers in Orel region have grown a record harvest of sugar beet – 2.09 million tons in 2016 (120.4% of 2015 volume), the average yield has made 38.7 MT/ha, the press service of the regional Administration reported.

According to provisional data from Rosstat, farmers of Lipetsk region received almost 5.150 million tons of sugar beet in 2016 season.

According to the local agriculture department of Tetyushinsky area, farmers have supplied 217.4 thousand tons to national sugar factories; the average yield has made 47.1 MT/ha this season.

Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan

According to the rail cargo data by Sugar.Ru for the year of 2016, Tajikistan has received 13.7 thousand tons of white sugar transit Russian by rail; Turkmenistan - 5.9 thousand tons; Azerbaijan – 23 thousand tons. Last figure is a surprise, as Azerbaijan has not received a kilogram of sugar transit Russian railways. Excluding 130 tons from Belarus, Azerbaijan has received the entire volume of imports from Ukraine, including 10 thousand tons from the leading Ukrainian supplier – Yareskivsky sugar mill.

UKRAINE

Exports of water with sugar has decreased to 7 060 tons in December against 7 221 tons in November, according to the State Fiscal Service. In 2016 the export of water with sugar has amounted to 100 400 tons.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee, the gross harvest of sugar beet has made 4.3 million tons in 2016 (30.3% more than 2015), with an average yield of 44.6 MT/ha (in 2015 – 33.0 MT/ha).
