RUSSIA
According to customs declarations by FCS, Russia has imported 15.4 thousand tons of raw sugar from countries outside the Customs Union in January 2016 (in 2015 – 0.6 thousand tons, in 2014 – 0.6 thousand tons). The main countries countries exporting raw sugar to Russia are Australia (97.46%) and Colombia (1.34%) in January 2016. The largest importers of raw sugar are “Primorsky Sakhar” LTD. (97.46%) and "Saint-Petersburg Sugar Factory" JSC (1.00%).

JSC "Zainsky Sugar" will invest more than 1.3 billion rubles in the development and modernization of its production in 2016.

From the beginning of the processing season 2015, sugar plants in Krasnodar Krai prepared 8.4 million tons of sugar beet, actually processed 8.3 million tons and produced 1.126 million tons of sugar and 276 thousand tons of dried pulp.

In the Kursk region, it is planned to sow at least 100 thousand hectares of sugar beet to collect about 4 million tons of sugar beet and produce at least 400 thousand tons of sugar in 2016, according to the regional administration.

According to price monitoring by sugar.ru for the period February 18–25, 2016, the dollar exchange rate has dropped by 1.9% (on Feb 18 – RUR 77.85/$; on Feb 25 RUR 76.39/$). The Moscow ruble price of sugar has decreased by RUR 0.50 rubles/kg (-1.12%), Krasnodar price increased by RUR 0.20/kg (+ 0.47%). Moscow US dollar price of sugar has increased by US$ 0.004/kg (+ 0.70%), Krasnodar price has added US$ 0.013/kg (+ 2.38%).
UKRAINE
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the initiative of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on deregulation of the sugar industry, providing for the abolition of the law of Ukraine “On state regulation of production and sale of sugar”.
KAZAKHSTAN
In the North-Kazakhstan region will build a sugar plant with a capacity of 8 thousand tons of sugar, reports the head of the region Yerik Sultanov.
