RUSSIA

One year embargo on imports of foreign food will expire in August though it may be extended because of the West's position, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, the Russian Federation is fully secured by four of the eight core food products that guarantee such security, including sugar (92.4% produced locally against at least 80% according to the concept of national food security).

UKRAINE

According to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices for sugar in the country have decreased by 6.7% in May 2015 (from April 2015). From the beginning of the year the consumer price for sugar in Ukraine has increased by 34.5%.

ARMENIA

In Armenia consumer prices for sugar fell by 2.2% in May 2015 compared to the previous month, National Statistical Service reported. In the capital of the country (Yerevan) the decline was 1.7%.
