RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 1,068,200 hectares, or 100.8% of the forecast on May 31, 2016 (in 2015 - 1,007,400 ha).

According to the analysis of the FCS customs declarations for April 2016, Russia imported 4 000 MT of white (refined) sugar from countries outside the Customs Union. By the end of 4 months, Russia’s imports of white sugar amounted to 16 400 MT (in 2015 - 15.700 MT, in 2014 - 17.7 thousand tons). In April 2016 Russia exported 400 MT of white sugar to countries outside the Customs Union. By the end of 4 months, white sugar exports from Russia made 800 tons (in 2015 - 400 tons, in 2014 - 300 MT). Russia was not importing molasses outside the Customs Union for 4 months of 2016. At the same time period Russia exported 32 700 tons of molasses to countries outside the Customs Union. By the end of 4 months the volume of exports of molasses from Russia has reached 120,800 tons (in 2015 - 67.4 thousand tons, in 2014 - 168.5 thousand tons), the largest receiver is Turkey (58%).
ARMENIA
In April 2016 Armenia has imported 8,061 tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701) for the total value of USD 2,704 thousand and 216 tons of molasses (HS code 1703), for the total value of USD 37,700, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
CUSTOMS UNION
The duty on import of raw sugar in the Customs Union remained at the level of US$ 227 ton in June 2016. In July 2016 the fee will fall to US$ 205/ton.
MOLDOVA
According statistic committee of Moldova, the value of exports of goods listed in the category "sugar, sugar products and honey" amounted to – US$ 7.6 million, import – US$ 5.1 million in the period January-March 2016.
KAZAKHSTAN
According to the figures by the Statistics Agency for May 2016, consumer prices for sugar in Kazakhstan have increased by 0.4% and from the beginning of the year - by 11.1%.
