The Penza OFAS does not see any cartel conspiracy in the current growth of sugar prices. According to the head of the department, the justification for the price rally is associated with an increase in the cost of the manufactured product.

According to operational data from the FCS, sugar imports from non-CIS countries amounted to USD 21.8 million in November 2020. At the same time, value of sugar imports on an annualized basis (against November 2019) increased by 0.5%. These figures were reported to Sugar.Ru by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (undoubtedly, the FCS sums imports from Non-CIS and imports of Belarusian sugar - Sugar.Ru).
UKRAINE
"Ukrtsukor" reports, Ukraine has produced 922.0 thousand tons of sugar and has processed 6.95 million tons of sugar beet as of December 7, 2020.
