RUSSIA

Beet sugar production in the Russian Federation amounted to 223 thousand tons in August 2020, which is 8.5 times more than in July 2020, but 59.1% less than in August 2019. In January-August 2020, total 1.2 million tons of sugar were produced, Rosstat reports.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of September 15, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 168.8 thousand hectares, or 18.2% of the area sown; 6.1 million tons of beet were harvested; average yield makes 36.04 MT/ha.

On September 15, 2020, 17 sugar contracts were sold at NTB. The total volume of sales has made 800 MT at the average price of RUR 38023/MT (US$508.91/MT at the exchange rate of CBR on date indicated). Trading session has closed at $515.29/MT (CFO), $500.57/MT (YFO), $500.57/MT (PFO).

UKRAINE

On September 15, 2020, the Khorostkovo production unit of Radekhovsky Sugar LLC has received the first volumes of sugar raws this season. Last season, this division has processed 594 730 thousand tons of sugar beet and produced 90 405 thousand tons of sugar.

BELARUS

As of September 15, 2020, Belarusian farms harvested sugar beet from 5,670 hectares (6.88% of the plan) and collected 247 thousand tons of beets at an average yield of 43.55 MT from hectare (on the same date in 2019, 700 700 MT and 45.12 MT/ha, respectively); sugar content in beets is 15.55% compared to 15.91% a year earlier.
