RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of August 27, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 40.9 thousand hectares or 4.4% of the area sown, 1.6 million tons of beet collected; average yield makes 39.47MT/ha. According to Soyuzrossahar, as of August 26, 2020, 37.7 thousand hectares of crops were harvested (4.1% of total crop acreage) In 2019, 80.6 thousand hectares were harvested on this date.

On August 27, 2020, four sugar contracts were sold at NTB. The total volume of sales has made 260 MT at the average price of RUR 32151/MT (US$ 425.63/MT at the exchange rate of CBR on date indicated). Trading session has closed at US$ 424.93/MT (CFO), US$ 427.55/MT (YFO), US$426.24/MT (PFO).

GK Rusagro has completed the production of sugar from the extract. In 2020, molasses processing was carried out at two desugarization stations located in the Tambov and Belgorod regions. The volume of extraction sugar production at the end of the year amounted to 104 thousand tons, which is more triple volume of production in 2019.

UKRAINE

According to the Institute of Bioenergetic Crops and Sugar Beet at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the weight of sugar beet with tops ranges from 0.970 to 1.400 kg as of August 20, 2020. The highest weight indicators are achieved with Solnechny and Olshansky hybrids. The weight of beet without top is in the range from 0.630 to 0.950 kg, the sugar content is 15-17%. General conclusion is that the beet crop condition is good or satisfactory.
