The sugar beet processing season has started at the Cheremnovsky sugar plant on August 22, 2020. This year, the Cheremnovsky sugar plant plans to process about 1 million tons of beets, featuring 6000 MT DC on beet. In just two days, the plant has processed 10.9 thousand tons of sugar beet and produced 823.4 tons of refined sugar.

As of August 21, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 22.2 thousand hectares or 2.4% of the area sown in Russia; 935.3 thousand tons of beet collected; average yield makes 42.14 MT/ha.

In the Stavropol Territory, agricultural producers have begun harvesting sugar beets. The expected gross harvest in all categories of farms will be about 1.1 million tons. The total area sown with sugar beet in 2020 is 25.8 thousand hectares.
