Sowing of sugar beets in Russia and Kazakhstan as of June 8, 2020

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of June 8, 2020, sugar beets were sown on an area of 931.6 thousand ha, or 98.6% of the projected area.


The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan revised the planned sugar beet acreage for 2020: before l June 8, the plan was 22.0 thousand hectares, but according to operational information on the progress of spring field work dated June 8, sugar beets were sown on area 20 5 thousand hectares or 100% of the plan. In 2019, sugar beet crops in the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 18.6 thousand ha out of 19.6 thousand ha planned by the Ministry.
