RUSSIA
About 12 thousand hectares were destroyed by dust storms in May in the Kursk region. Beet-growing farms are re-seeding crops, it is planned that 7.5 thousand hectares will be planted with sugar beets, the remaining 3.5 thousand with other crops: corn, soy, Kurskaya Pravda reports.
KAZAKHSTAN
In 2020 a new line was installed and made ready for launch to operate in a pulp drying and pulp granulation units at the Aksu Sugar Plant, said Samat Nadirbayev, director of the enterprise. Aksu sugar factory was launched in September 2017. The production capacity is 300 thousand tons of sugar beet processing per season with the projected production volume of up to 35 thousand tons of refined sugar.
