BELARUS
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, interviewed by Sugar.Ru, by April 23, 2020, Belarusian farmers have sown 73.5 thousand ha of sugar beets, which is 80.3% of the plan (last year - 82.1 thousand ha, 85.5%). Belarussian agrarians plan to grow sugar beet on 91.5 thousand ha in 2020.
UKRAINE
Sowing of sugar beets was completed in the Vinnitsa region, this year the area under this crop increased by 7.3 thousand hectares to 47.5 thousand hectares, or +8.2%, compared to last year. In the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, sugar beet planting is closing to completion – 4.5 thousand hectares (or 95% of the forecast) were sown.
