RUSSIA
According to Rosstat figures, processed by Sugar.Ru, 133 thousand tons of chocolate and sugar confectionery were produced in the Russian Federation in February 2020 (+ 9.0% compared to the previous month and -3.0% compared to February 2019).

According to Soyuzrossahar, 7.55 million tons of white sugar were produced from sugar beets in the 2019/20 season by mid-March 2020. Some beet volume was processed into sugar syrup, from which, as well as from beet molasses, sugar is still being obtained; these volumes are not taken into account in this rating. The "Big Three" of manufacturers in mid-March looks like follows:
- Prodimex - 1626 thousand tons of white sugar, 22% of the market, the average production volume per plant - 108 thousand tons
- Dominant - 1178 thousand tons of white sugar, 16% of the market, the average production volume per plant - 168 thousand tons
- Rusagro - 886 thousand tons of white sugar, 12% of the market, the average production volume per plant - 98 thousand tons
- Top 3 manufacturing plants:
- Yelets plant (Sucden) - 266 thousand tons
- Leningradsky plant (Dominant) - 251 thousand tons
- Lebedyansky plant (Dominant) - 208 thousand tons
KYRGYZSTAN
The Kyrgyz government introduces a ban on the temporary export of certain food commodities and essential goods, including sugar. An emergency regime has been introduced in the republic.
