RUSSIA
As of February 28, 2020, since the beginning of the season sugar industry of Tatarstan has harvested 2,387.6 thousand tons of sugar beets, processed 2,318.2 thousand tons and produced 348 385 tons of sugar; sugar production yield - 15.4%, reports the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Zainsky Sugar” continues its work, the remainder of beet piled at the factory is 21 500 tons.

Russia has exported 500 thousand tons of sugar this agricultural year, said IKAR Director General Dmitry Rylko. He also noted that according to the forecast of the agency, sugar exports could reach 0.9–1 million tons by the end of the agricultural year.

In the 2019/2020 season, sugar factories of the Rusagro Group of Companies produced 882.6 thousand tons of sugar. Compared to last season, the increase in production made 17%, the press service of the company reported. Before the start of the next season, Rusagro plans to produce another 90 thousand tons of sugar from molasses.
KAZAKHSTAN
The Ministry of Agriculture intends to achieve a high level of substitution of imported agricultural products in 4 years, the press service of the department reports. To achieve this, in particular, the construction of two sugar factories with a total production capacity of 200 thousand tons per year has been launched, and three existing sugar factories will be modernized.
