RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of September 2, 2019 sugar beets were harvested from 121.6 thousand ha or 10.6% of the crop acreage (in 2018 - 96.3 thousand ha), 5.2 million tons collected (in 2018 - 3.3 million tons) with a yield of 42.88 MT/ha (in 2018 – 34.18 MT/ha).

The prices from industrial producers decreased to 25.19 rubles per 1 kg of refined beet sugar on August 29, 2019 (-2.9% per week) according to the Food Safety Monitoring and Forecasting System of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

In the new season 2019/2018 Russia may increase sugar production to 6.5 million tons, the International Sugar Organization (ISO) predicts. In the previous season, sugar production in Russia amounted to 5.9 million tons. According to ISO estimates, Russian sugar exports will grow to 805 thousand tons from 315 thousand tons a year earlier. Domestic sugar consumption in Russia will increase as well – up to 5.92 million tons from 5.835 million tons today. Imports, on the contrary, will decrease: according to the forecast, and will make 225 thousand tons, compared to 250 thousand tons imported in the previous season.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated September 3, 2019, total 13 vessels have been nominated to carry 419250 MT of raw cane sugar in 2019 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 292350 MT from 9 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
BELARUS
By September 3, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 3.1 thousand hectares or 3.31% of the area sown (in 2018 - 2.72 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 135.9 thousand MT (in 2018 - 108.8 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 43.78 MT/ha (in 2018 – 40.02 MT/ha). The sucrose content is 15.18% national average versus 15.99% for the same date last year.
