According to Sugar.ru price monitoring data for the period from 20.06.2019 to 27.06.2019 the US dollar rate dropped by -1,9% (on 20.06 - RUR 63,98/$, on 27.06 - RUR 62,81/$). Ruble Moscow wholesale price for sugar increased by 1,10 RUR/kg (+3,93%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by 0,50 RUR/kg (+1,85%). US dollar Moscow wholesale price for sugar increased by $0,025 /kg (+5,71%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by $0,016 /kg (+3,79%).

The growth of wholesale prices for sugar, which began last week, has stalled at around 27.50 rubles / kg (EXW), and even began to roll back. Officially, the largest companies keep a price of 27.50 (Dominant offer of sugar of the new crop), however, apparently, there are no sales at this price, the “working” price is around 27.00 rubles / kg. Not a single lot of sugar was sold at the NTB exchange for two sessions, and mere 20 tons were sold today at 14:30. There is a certain deficit associated with shipments, but so far nothing critical. In the short term, if the rise in prices will continue, it will not be significant. In the medium term (1-2 months) – it mostly depends on the crop harvest, forecasts for which are still optimistic.
According to Sugar.Ru railway monitoring, for 27 days of June, Russia imported only 3.7 thousand tons of white sugar (for the whole of May - 11.6 thousand tons), which is a direct consequence of the fall in wholesale prices for sugar. Exports from the beginning of June amounted to 19.5 thousand tons, the pace of exports is the highest since April 2018, when sugar exports to Uzbekistan closed. Most of the exports go to Kazakhstan (15.7 thousand tons), small amounts of sugar were imported by Kyrgyzstan (1.8 thousand tons) and Azerbaijan (1.4 thousand tons). The transit of white sugar through the Russian railway remains at the level of previous months, from the beginning of June 22.4 thousand tons were transported (in May only 25.3 thousand tons), including 9.5 thousand tons to Azerbaijan (all – from Ukraine), 5.1 thousand tons to Tajikistan (from Ukraine and Belarus) and 4.1 thousand tons to Kazakhstan (all – from Belarus)

According to Ukrstat data, processed by Sugar.Ru, the production of sugar in May 2019 has made 0.0 MT (in May 2018 - 0.0 MT). Total 0 MT of sugar have been produced in January-May 2019 (in January-May 2018 - 0 MT). The stocks of sugar decreased to 349896,0 MT in May 2019 (-25.07% vs. previous month, +6.55% vs. May 2018 and -56.18% vs. December 2018).

According to Ukrstat data, processed by Sugar.Ru, the production of molasses in May 2019 has made 0.0 MT (in May 2018 - 0.0 MT). Total 0 MT of molasses have been produced in January-May 2019 (in January-May 2018 - 0 MT). The stocks of molasses decreased to 72825,0 MT in May 2019 (-29.96% vs. previous month, +50.87% vs. May 2018 and -51.51% vs. December 2018).
