Sugar market news from Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, Apr 05, 2019

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of April 4, 2019, Russia has sown sugar beet out on an area of 96.2 thousand hectares or 8.5% of the forecast area (in 2018 – 15.8 thousand hectares). Farmers in Krasnodar region have seeded around 50% of planned crop acreage.


As of April 4, 2019, sowing of sugar beet in Ukraine was carried out on an area of 76 000 hectares or 31% of the forecast, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reports.


According to the analysis of data by the Federal Customs Service of Kazakhstan, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 2 months (January - February) 2019 the foreign trade with countries outside CU zone is like follows, import of other cane sugar (HS 170114) from Brazil amounted to 23.02 thousand tons. Exports of other sugars (HS 170199) amounted to 1.84 thousand tons – all to Uzbekistan.
