RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of March 28, 2019, farmers have sown sugar beet on an area of 13.5 thousand hectares or 1.2% of the forecast area (in 2018 - 1.7 thousand hectares) in Krasnodar region and the Chechen Republic.

UKRAINE

According to Ukrstat data, processed by Sugar.Ru, the production of sugar in February 2019 has made 0.0 MT (in February 2018 - 0.0 MT). None sugar have been produced in January-February 2019 (in January-February 2018 - 0 MT). The stocks of sugar decreased to 679 030 MT in February 2019 (-9.06% vs. previous month, +7.55% vs. February 2018 and -14.97% vs. December 2018).

ARMENIA

The Armenian government has removed the provision on the taxation of carbonated beverages from the draft of the new Tax Code, said Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. Earlier, the Ministry of Finance proposed amendments to the Tax Code, according to which it was envisaged to introduce a 5% excise tax on sweet carbonated beverages.
