Additional requirements for product labeling using genetically modified organisms are introduced on December 26, in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to Rosstat, prices for such commodities as sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets increased by 1.3% in Russia in November 2018 compared with the previous month, while in the EU they did not change at average.

According to the analytical service of Soyuzrossahar, as of December 24, 2015, a total of 5.57 million tons of beet sugar was produced, which is 313 thousand tons less than in 2017 on this date. The total production of beet sugar in the 2018 calendar year is expected to reach 6.13 million tons.


According to the analysis of the Belarusian Federal Customs Service data, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 10 months (January-October) of 2018, the export of white sugar (HS code 170199) amounted to 344.2 thousand tons (95.70% compared to the same period of 2017), from of which Russia received 208 thousand tons, Kazakhstan – 66 thousand tons, and 36 thousand tons went to Ukraine. Sugar imports amounted to 53451.0 tons (112.50% over the same period in 2017), of which 42 thousand tons from Russia.
