RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of October 4, 2018, sugar beet was harvested out from an area of 582.3 thousand hectares or 52.5% of the crop acreage (in 2017 - 590.9 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 20.6 million tons (in 2017 - 24.8 million tons), with average yield of 35.44 MT / ha (in 2017 – 42.02 MT / ha).

According to the FCS, in August 2018, Russia imported 15.1 thousand tons of white sugar. Following the results of 8 months, total imports of white sugar to the Russian Federation amounted to 177.0 thousand tons (+2.2% compared to 2017 figure). In addition, in January-August 2018, Russia imported 3.7 thousand tons of “raw sugar” (-77.9% by 2017), by which the FCS probably means the so-called "brown sugar".

UKRAINE

According to the analysis of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in September 2018 sugar (HS 1701) exports amounted to 11,102 tons, from the beginning of 2018 - 397,600 tons (vs. 442 594 tons in January-September 2017). Uzbekistan received a little more than half (in money equivalent) of Ukrainian sugar (50.2%), followed by Turkey and Libya (9.9% each country).

BELARUS

As of October 5, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 40.7 thousand hectares or 40.9% of the crop area (in 2017 - 40.4 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 1 765 thousand tons, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.
