RUSSIA
According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, Russia has exported 239.5 thousand tons of molasses in April 2018. According to the results of 4 months of molasses export campaign, Russia has shipped out 239.5 thousand tons (in 2017 - 141.4 thousand MT; in 2016 - 121.6 thousand MT). In the period January - April 2018, the main countries importers of molasses from Russia were TURKEY (57.18%) and SPAIN (8.06%).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of June 14, 2018, sugar beet was sown at an area of 1136.8 thousand hectares or 103.8% of the forecast (in 2017 - 1187.1 thousand hectares).
UKRAINE
Domestic consumption of sugar in Ukraine is estimated at 1 million tons in September-May 2017/2018 MY, according to the calculations of the Economic Discussion Club made on June 1, 2018. In 9 months of this season total 433 thousand tons of sugar were exported. The largest volumes of Ukrainian sugar were imported by Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Sri Lanka. Import of sugar to Ukraine was practically none. As of 01.06.2018, sugar reserves are estimated at 0.9 million tons, which is twice their level for the same date last year.
