RUSSIA

Average consumer price of refined sugar amounted to 35.68 rubles per 1 kg in February 2018, which is 0.22 rubles less than a month ago, reports Rosstat.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Krasnodar region has already sown 1.7 thousand hectares (in 2017 - 9.4 thousand hectares) with sugar beet as of March 27, 2018.

According to the annual 2017 report of GC "Rusagro", sales in the sugar segment amounted to 30,386 million rubles, gross profit - 8090 million rubles, operating profit - 3710 million rubles. For 12 months of 2017 total 984 thousand tons of sugar were produced (810 thousand tons in 2016); 900,000 tons were sold at an average price of 30.6 rubles per kilo without VAT (in 2016 - 39.4 rubles per kilo). Investments in the sugar segment amounted to 3387 million rubles (in 2016 - 2504 million rubles)

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the data analysis conducted by Sugar.Ru, as issued by the Kazakhstan Federal Customs Service data covering two months trade (January - February 2018) with countries outside Customs Union (CU), the import of raw sugar (HS 170114) amounted to 62.22 thousand tons (suppliers are Brazil and Cuba). Import of white sugar (HS 170199) amounted to 4.29 thousand tons, exports – 31.97 thousand tons. Sugar was imported mainly from the Netherlands, small amounts received from Poland and the Czech Republic. Almost all of white sugar exported Kazakhstan outside the EAEC was delivered to Uzbekistan.
