RUSSIA
According to Sugar.ru price monitoring data for the period from 14.03.2018 to 22.03.2018 the US dollar rate increased by 1.0% (on 14.03 - RUR 56.94/$, on 22.03 - RUR 57.50/$). Ruble Moscow wholesale price for sugar dropped by 0.10 RUR/kg (-0.32%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by 1.50 RUR/kg (+5.49%). US dollar Moscow wholesale price for sugar dropped by $0,007 /kg (-1.29%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by $0.022 /kg (+4.59%).
The uptrend for wholesale sugar prices has stopped and even reversed over the past week. As of today, March 22, the working prices in Krasnodar basis EXW are in the range 28.80-29.00 rubles/kg, for rail deliveries outside the south and the center of Russia prices dropped to 28.50 rubles/kg ( basis Krasnodar). Market participants marked a lack of demand, large sellers are ready to adjust prices down, and most likely – they will. The sowing campaign is at the doorway accompanied by vague expectations of the new season with the unsold remains of the old.
According to railway monitoring by Sugar.Ru, in March 2018 exports increased slightly in recent days, but are still significantly behind the previous months. If in January Russia supplied 86 thousand tons for export, in February - 51 thousand tons, then in 22 days of March - only 17.6 thousand tons. Exports to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan remain at the level of the previous months, but exports to Uzbekistan have fallen dramatically, since the beginning of March, only 3,523 tons have been exported to Uzbekistan. Against this background, Belarus demonstrates a positive dynamics, and has shipped 13.8 thousand tons of sugar to Azerbaijan and Central Asia transit Russia since early March (in February only 11.3 thousand tons).
In addition to the steamer being unloaded in Novorossiysk, Kazakhstan expects another steamer with raw sugar with 33 thousand tons on board.
UKRAINE
Ukrainian agroholding Astarta has published its annual report for 2017. The income from the sugar segment amounted to 201 million euros, the volume of sold sugar - 440 thousand tons (+ 14% year on year). About 186 thousand tons of sugar was exported (+ 34% y / y). Sales of granulated pulp increased by 18% to 31 thousand tons and molasses - by 11% to 99 thousand tons.
BELARUS
According to the Federal Customs Service of Belarus, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 1 month (January) 2018, export of white sugar (HS code 170199) has made 33941.0 MT; import - 4621.0 MT. Export of molasses (HS code 1703) has made 15876.0 MT; import - 3133.0 MT.
