According to Sugar.ru price monitoring data for the period from 08.02.2018 to 15.02.2018 the US dollar rate increased by 1.1% (on 08.02 - RUR 56.95/$, on 15.02 - RUR 57.59/$). Ruble Moscow wholesale price for sugar increased by 0.40 RUR/kg (+1.40%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by 0.30 RUR/kg (+1.14%). US dollar Moscow wholesale price for sugar increased by $0,002 /kg (+0.40%), Krasnodar wholesale price has not changed staying at the level of $0.464 /kg.
This week, the demand for sugar increased slightly, which caused a slight increase in prices. The largest companies are on their high prices (but sell to industry and networks at a significant discount), other vendors gradually raise prices to "Prodimex level". The final demand, however, is low, on the basis of Krasnodar at the level of 26.5 rubles per kilo. Where the market will go in the near future, we still do not understand.
According to the railway monitoring Sugar.Ru, for the first half of February, Russia imported 10 thousand tons of white sugar. The export rate decreased slightly, in the 15 days of February, 36.9 thousand tons were exported by rail (86.4 thousand tons in January). The FCS published the final data on exports of Russian sugar in 2017, according to which, 290.5 thousand tons of white sugar was exported from the Russian Federation in 5 months of the 2017/18 season, it is necessary to add to these figures "gray" export by trucks to Kazakhstan, which we estimate about 2-3 thousand tons per month, total for a season about 10 thousand tons of such gray exports .

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, in December 2017 Russia has imported 20.3 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 12 months of white sugar import campaign, Russia has shipped in 249.9 thousand tons (in 2016 - 290.5 thousand MT; in 2015 - 347.1 thousand MT). In the period January - December 2017, the main countries exporters of white sugar to Russia were BELARUS (82.13%) and POLAND (11.32%).
In December 2017 Russia has exported 514.1 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 12 months of white sugar export campaign, Russia has shipped out 514.1 thousand tons (in 2016 - 99.6 thousand MT; in 2015 - 7.5 thousand MT). In the period January - December 2017, the main countries importers of white sugar from Russia were AZERBAIJAN (22.32%) and UZBEKISTAN (21.85%).
KAZAKHSTAN
According to the analysis of the data on trade with the countries of the EEA of the FCS of Kazakhstan, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 12 months (January-December) 2017, the import of white sugar (HS Code 170199) amounted to 155.3 thousand tons (119.7 thousand tons from Russia and 35.6 thousand tons from Belarus); import of raw beet sugar (HS Code 170112) amounted to 2.3 thousand tons; import of molasses (HS Code 1703) has made 5923.6 tons (3.9 thousand tons from Kyrgyzstan and 2.0 thousand tons from Russia).
