RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet has been harvested in the country from an area of 806.9 thousand hectares or 68.6% of the harvest area by October 17, 2017 (in 2016 - 691.1 thousand hectares).

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS, in August 2017 Russia has exported 341.6 thousand tons of molasses. According to the results of 8 months of molasses export campaign, Russia has shipped out 341.6 thousand tons (in 2016 - 227.5 thousand MT; in 2015 - 134.4 thousand MT). In the period January - August 2017, the main countries importers of molasses from Russia were TURKEY (56.23%) and SPAIN (14.26%).

TAJIKISTAN

Local consumer prices for sugar dropped by 4.9% in September 2017, according to the Statistics Agency.

KAZAKHSTAN

Kazakhstan continues to increase duty-free imports of sugar with total 18.5 thousand tons of white sugar imported over the period August-mid- October 2017, Soyuzrossahar reports.

According to the Bureau of national statistics of Kazakhstan figures on trade with the EEA countries for 8 months (January-August) of 2017, the import of white sugar (HS code 170199) has made 123.7 thousand tons, including 94 000 tons supplied by Russia and 30 000 tons – by Belarus. Exports of other sugars (HS code 1702) amounted to 9039.2 tons, imports – 3691.7 tons, most of the foreign trade occurred with Russia.
