RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of October 3, 2017 sugar beet was harvested from the area of 570,3 thousand hectares or 48,5% of total crop acreage (in 2016 – 450,7 thousand hectares).
UKRAINE
According to Ukrstat, as of September 29, 2017, the average consumer price of sugar in Ukraine was 15.58 UAH/kg (34.29 rubles/kg at the Central Bank exchange rate for the reporting day), which is 3.53% less than the price of the previous observation date 9 days ago. Over the year (since September 29, 2016) sugar has grown in price by 13.56%, in two years (since September 18, 2015) the price ofsugar has increased by 32.71%. The highest prices are observed in the Lugansk region - 16.46 UAH/kg, the lowest - in the Kyiv, 14.74 UAH/kg.
